The Demise of JJ72

band picYes, in case you are scouring the web wondering what did happen to that band JJ72, well they decided after the constant struggles with their record label it was time to call it a day after 11 tough years together.

The following is a press release announcing their decision......

"Reader, we are to let thee know, JJ72's body only lies below;
For could the grave JJ's soul comprise, earth would be richer than the skies."

"JJ72 was born during an Easter many seasons ago; today it dies on the cusp of midsummer eleven years later. "
Mark Greaney, Fergal Matthews and Sarah Fox wish to express their deepest and darkest gratitude to all of those with impeccable taste who helped and supported the band.
"We remember everything, from mechanical birds in Japan to angels in arid Arizona, from broken bones and Berlin birthdays to predatory Portsmouth spiders. For those who disliked and perhaps despised (gasp) JJ72, thank you - how did beautiful photographs exist without a negative?! We crafted two monuments of magnificence for the future aural pleasure and pain of all would be JJ believers and doubters....and for those who care not for the passing of the petulant yet powerful pup....shame on you! Thank you to Hilary Woods for being a dazzling damsel and thank you to all who played music in/with the band. You know who you are. "

Where are they now?

Mark Greaney
Over the 2 years since the split was announced Mark has gone out on tour and dabbled at being a solo artist and has now more recently started up a new band 'Concerto for Constantine', so far this adventure has gained critical praise gaining the band arena support slots with 'The Smashing Pumpkins' and 'Snow Patrol'. They are currently locked up in a studio preparing tracks for their debut album.

Sarah Fox
Straight after the split Sarah went off and joined rock band 'Lucifer', she has recently left the band and has started a new project, she is running a record label called "Angel, She's A Killer". She has also gone back to studying.

Fergal Matthews and Hilary Woods
Nothing to report on these two, seemingly they have both given up the rock star life style for good.

This site will continue to keep a presence on the World Wide Web for the foreseeable future as an ode to JJ72. We will attempt to continue updating on the whereabouts of the band members, we will also attempt to build the site up into a big archive of the bands history.
